New Album, New Tours, New Facebook page and New Year!

First of all Happy New Year, a little belated, but it's been busy here!

So the New Album, Source of Every Hour is out on Survivor Records on Feb 15th. Go to http://www.kingsway.co.uk/Shop/ and you can pre-order it for £9.99, bargain.

The new material consists of worship songs, gospel songs with titles such as Redeemer, Refuge, Songs of Healing, Saved and Purify, to name a few.

I can announce that I'm on the road a bit starting in Feb, going to Ireland, England and Wales - looking for offers in Scotland!

Hello at last

Hello anybody that reads this!

I've not been able to get into my site for ages and ages. Technical problems/passwords etc

Well I've got a couple of bits of news. I'm due to have my 2nd baby in about 6 weeks time. So I won't be gigging over the summer but will be back out on the road in October. So look out for the dates.

Secondly I've had the amazing opportunity to collaborate with some lovely guys from The Netherlands and as a result I'm a featured artist on 4 amazing trance songs! I'll keep you posted as to releases and where you can down load them.

I've also been writing some new stuff and going to try and start another album this year - a little ambitious of me I know with new addition, but there's a few songs in the pipeline so they'll be recorded in the not too distant future.

Anyway - now I can get in here I'll keep you updated with any significant news that you might be interested in!

Christmas is a coming

Hello everyone.

Just to let you know my news, as you can see there are no gigs at the mo, I've got a couple or so planned for February. I'm taking some time to write as it seems like a good opportunity.

Also I'm expecting baby number 2 which is due early May 2008, so there's another reason for not being out and about too much in the coming months.

However I'll keep you posted of anything that I might get up to.

Tomorrow morning, Sunday 24th, my band Hummingbird will be featured on the Aled Jones Show on Radio 2 between 7-9am. Do listen in as he'll be playing 3 tracks from our forthcoming album "Tougher than Love".

Yes it was my song on Hollyoaks last week. So well spotted if you heard it and then emailes/texted me!

If you are new to the land of Cathy Burton, you might want to know that that song is called Sending and it appears on my debut album Burn Out. Since then I've done a couple more albums which you can get all 3 for £20 postage free - you can't beat it!

So there you go. The Hummingbird Tour is all but one gig from finished and it's been excellent, so thanks to anyone who's been to any of the gigs. It's been such a blast!

Hi there,

I can finally and officially announce that I have joined a band called Hummingbird. I've teamed up with the amazingly talented singer songwriters Amy Wadge and Edwina Hayes to make a harmonious trio of song birds, aptly named Hummingbird. If you go to https://www.myspace/hummingbirdmusic you will see exactly what I'm talking about.

We pretty much finished the album this last week and have already been tipped by Sandi Thom to be the next big thing for 2007! How exciting - lets see what the year holds.

I'll be putting the dates up on the website over the next few days, to include Glastonbury! Wow!

Good news for people living north of the Midlands - I am at last doing some gigs beyond Birmingham! So I'm looking forward to seeing you there!

We're going to be all over England and Wales in March and April, so do look through the dates as they appear and come and check us out!

Thanks to anyone who came along to any of the gigs over the past couple of months. Dan and I have now officially finished the Autumn Tour 06. We ended up down near Dartmoor in Tavistock in Devon. Fantastic crowd, a great way to finish. We're now booking dates for the New Year so if you are intersted in booking at all, do contact me.

Hi there, just heard the news that Radio 2 will be playing a couple of live tracks tonight - Saturday at 9pm as part of the Sold on Song /On Song Festival - it was from a gig I did a couple of weeks back at Shepherds Bush Empire, supporting The Storys.

If you are looking at this on Saturday night - there just may be time to check it out!

Who knows what it wil sound like! It wasn't my best gig ever - and so it goes and gets played on Radio 2. Still that's life!

Hi,

I'm just recovering from a hectic week, that included supporting Deacon Blue at Scala in London on Thursday. What a gig! I never thought I'd get to see Deacon Blue, let alone open for them. What a night!

Thanks for kind comments on gig page and for the emails that have been coming in, it's good to be appreciated.

Work recommences on the album this week, I've got about 12 songs recorded in an embryonic state. So we're on to the decoration and polishing as of tomorrow. I can safetly say that the release is June 16th. Still no title, but I'm working on it!

New Album for June 2006

Hi VERY VERY long time no speak. Apologies.

I've been busy as usual, had a great tour in the autumn. Thanks for coming to see Dan and me. After that I had a lovely Christmas also. Still getting used to being a Mum, at the same time as writing a new album touring etc. It's nothing new to the world I guess, but all new to me!

So this new year I've been getting ready for the new album, which is beginning it's emergence on to tape and out of my head this very Monday.

I'm very excited, feel like I've got some good songs - but I'll let you guys be the judge of that in June when we plan to release it.

I'm going to be touring in June also, so if you you want a gig in your area, please feel free to contact me through the website.

I'll keep you posted on the album's progress and when I get a title I'll let you know! Can't quite pick one yet - hopefully this week will tell what it should be.

Summer things

Hi,

Well my baby Isobel is now 3 months old and I feel like I'm back in the land of the living. Whilst being a new Mummy I've been busy booking up an Autumn Tour. Trying to get a DVD together and also slotting in the odd gig here and there.

Over the summer I'm taking it easy but as I'm hanging out down in Shepton Mallett at the NEW WINE and SOUL SURVIVOR festivals I'll be making a couple of appearances.

Week A and Week B of New Wine I'll be playing in the venue formally known as THE VENUE! on the Tuesdays of both weeks.

Prior to that I'll be appearing at the 23/7 festival in Birmingham.

Exciting news also about Greenbelt. I'll be performing with to great artists/bands. Cinematic Underground and the one and only Ricky Ross. So watch this space for details. I will also be doing my own slot in the Performance Cafe.

Look forward to seeing some of you over the next couple of months.

Its a girl!

Cathy and husband Paul are now the very proud parents to a baby girl! Isobel Burton was born at 21.26 on March 30 and weighed 7lbs. Mum and baby are in top form, and should be returning home in the morning.

Well I've done my last official gigs before I have a baby due on March 24th, so if you go looking on the live dates page for a gig near you. There won't be one for a wee while!

Jus to let you know that the Chilsworthy gig scheduled for 24th Otober is now taking place in the very near by Holsworthy. Please check out the live dates page for update on venue and map.

Also a new gig has been added. WORLD AIDS DAY is December 1st. Andy Flan, Nicki Rogers, Dan Wheeler and myself are taking part in a charity fundraiser gig with CRY IN THE DARK. they are raising the last few thousand to build a brand new AIDS Hospice in Romania.
